Project 2010-2011 "Social Partners preparing for change" Print E-mail

The Social Dialogue Committee has successfully conducted the project "Social partners preparing for change", co-financed by the European Commission, PostEurop and UNI within the framework of the Postal Sector Evolution working group from June 2010 to June 2011.

This project aimed at offering the social partners the necessary tools and knowledge for efficiently managing change. It has covered the following topics:

  • The Universal Service Obligation
  • Social monitoring including a typology of new entrants 
  • Change management processes

A technical documentation, with the help of the selected consultant Copenhagen Economics, has been built on these topics and presented during three regional seminars which took place in Spain, Hungary and Romania. The social partners from all 21 EU Member States took part to these seminars which will take place:

    • On 24- 25 March 2011 in Madrid
      • With Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain as participants
    • On 12-13 May 2011 in Bucharest
      • With Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, France, Latvia, Romania as participants
    • On 26-27 May 2011 in Budapest
      • With Austria, Czech republic, Germany, Hungary,  Ireland, Netherlands, Poland,  Sweden and UK as participants

"Social partners preparing for change" First regional seminar in Madrid, 24-25 March 2011

The first regional seminar of the Postal Sector Evolution working group project was held on 24-25 March 2011 in Madrid with the kind support of Correos and the Spanish trade unions.

The seminar gathered representatives from the postal operators and the trade unions of the sector from Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain. It gave the opportunity to participants to learn about the key issues for the social evolution of the postal sector, to exchange best practices and debate on these subjects.

The second regional seminar of the Postal Sector Evolution working group project was held on12-13 May 2011 in Bucharest with the kind support of Posta Romana and the Romania trade union, FSPCS.

The seminar gathered representatives from the postal operators and the trade unions of the sector from Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, France, Latvia and Romania. It gave the opportunity to participants to learn about the key issues for the social evolution of the postal sector, to exchange best practices and debate on these subjects.

"Social partners preparing for change" Third regional seminar in Budapest, 26-27 May 2011

The third regional seminar of the Postal Sector Evolution working group project was held on 26-27 May 2011 in Budapest with the kind support of Magyar Posta and the Hungarian trade union.

The seminar gathered representatives from the postal operators and/or the trade unions of the sector from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and UK. It gave the opportunity to participants to learn about the key issues for the social evolution of the postal sector, to exchange best practices and debate on these subjects.

The first day of the seminar focused on:

  • Monographies on Hungary, Germany and Netherlands:
    • Summary presentation on the countries situation in terms of social regulation, change management and USO by Marcin Winiarczyk from Copenhagen Economics
