The Social Dialogue Committee for the postal sector was set up in 1998 with the following objectives :

  • To advise the European Commission on initiatives relative to social policy and on the developments in European policy which could have a social impact on the postal and allied services sector
  • To encourage and promote social dialogue within the postal and allied services sector in order to contribute to the development of jobs and to the improvement of working conditions of those working in this sector
  • To discuss appropriate structures to allow negociations between the partners in the sector

SDC Chairman is Dominique BAILLY, Chief Executive Officer Adviser, La Poste Group. The Vice Chairman is John Baldwin, President of UNI Post, International Union, which Head Office is in Geneva.

The workings groups “training and skills development”/"Corporate Social Responsibility" are chaired by Francesco Costa (Poste Italiane) and Heike Ausprung (DP DHL) with the respective spokesperson for UNI being John Baldwin (CWU) and Montserrat Mir (FCT CC.OO)

The members are :

  •  John Baldwin (CWU), José Oliveira (SNTCT), Ciro Amicone (UIL), Verena Wiesner (GPF), Brian Scott (Unite), Montserrat Mir (FCT CC.OO), Jens Saverstam (SEKO) and Öie Väljas (ESTAl) for UNI.
  • Francesco Barbaro Costa (Poste Italiane), Nathalie Ganzel (La Poste) Heike Ausprung (DPWN), Edgar Müller (Austrian Post), Arta Mackevica (Latvia Post), Ioana Marinescu (Romanian Post), Merike Jaamul (Estonian Post), Margot Blok (TPG), Patricia Alvarez (Correos y Telegrafos), Beatriz Fernandez and Carla Mulet (Correos y Telegrafos), Karolina Bronz and Ewa Durasiewicz (Poctza Polska), Pedro Ramalhete (CTT Correios) and Thierry Durvaux (La Poste belge) for PostEurop.

The working group "Accident Prevention" is chaired by Tamas Potykiewicz (Hungarian Post). The spokeswoman of UNI is Marie-Hélène Castellarnau (FO-COM).

The working group "Postal Sector Evolution" is chaired by Dominique Bailly (La Poste). The spokesman for UNI is John Baldwin.

The members are:

  • Heike Ausprung/Linda Krömjong (DP DHL), José Pedro Ramalhete (CTT Correios), Barbaro Francesco Costa (Poste Italiane) ,Jan-Bart Henry and Hans Blikman (TNT Post) and Tomas Manso (Correos) for Posteurop.
  •  Montserrat Mir (FCT CC.OO), Jacky Arches (FO-COM), Öie Väljas (ESTAL) and Jens Saverstam (SEKO) for UNI

The working group "Exchange with other sectors" is chaired by Hans Blikman (TNT Post) with the spokesman for UNI being Jacky Arches (FO-COM)
