Training Activities: Three workshops for one joint project

The Training  and Skills Development  Project of the Social Dialogue Committee in the Postal Sector.

On 22 June 2006 The Employers and Trade Unions of the Social Dialogue Committee in the postal sector signed an important Joint Declaration on Training  and Skills Development.
The objectives of this Joint Declaration were to emphasise the importance of Training and Skills Development in the management of change process of the European postal sector due to liberalisation and privatisation processes, providing also a shared framework able to inspire actions on Training issues, through the identification of six orientations.

The Training/Skills working group of the Social Dialogue Committee has jointly prepared a project that, with the support of the European commission,  made possible the organisation of three regional workshops.

London Workshop on Training and Skills Development, 29 February 2008

The London Workshop was part of a project, co-financed by the European Commission, consisting of three regional workshops in Tallinn (Estonia), Vienna (Austria) and London (UK).

The aim of this workshop introduced by Royal Mail Group CEO Adam Crozier was to enhance key themes and practices, along with the presentation of the Joint Declaration on Training and Skills Development.
Joint presentations from employer and employee sides were followed by debates to share the Postal Sector's common vision on the importance of Training and Skills Development in business, and also in facing the challenges of the European postal Sector.
