At a time of accelerated evolutions in the sector, the SDC decided to put in place an ambitious initiative: the Social Observatory of the postal sector. The project “Social partners preparing for change” successfully conducted in 2011 is the second step of this initiative. It covers all EU Member states and aims at training social partners on key evolutions for the sector:
· Social regulation including a typology of new entrants · Change management · Universal Service
It is the first time that the SDC collects such large scale data from a majority of EU countries on the main evolutions for the sector.
We are pleased to publish the final report of the project (Download EN, FR, DE) which will be disseminated to European, international NPOs, postal unions and to all relevant stakeholders. |
| SDC Plenary meeting, 27 September 2011 |
The Social Dialogue Committee held on 27 September 2011 its annual Plenary meeting. Interesting presentations were given by Mr. Vacas from Eurofound on the social impact of the crisis in the banking sector and by Mr. Anderson, head of UNI Post and Logistics, on UNI europa organization.
Each working group also presented its 2011 activities and the 2012 planned working programme (under finalization for some WG): - Accident Prevention presentation Major events of this Plenary were the mandate given to the PSE working group to prepare a new Joint Declaration and the decision to have the SDC bureau conduct a review of the Committee organization and functioning to be delivered at the end of 2011. |
